Someone Who'll Watch Over Me

Frank McGuinness
05 Aug 11 to 11 Nov 11
Theatre by the Lake

Three hostages together in a cell, chained. Trapped in a constant dialogue with each other, they bicker, they bond and mutual respect turns to a form of love. To battle boredom and insanity and ultimately to stay alive, they must keep their brains active.

...a play in which hardly anything happens, and so it is a testament to the skill of McGuinness' writing that there is so much humour and tension in this powerful piece of theatre... a very strong cast... with Jack Power as mischievous troublemaker Edward and Matthew Vaughan as peacemaker Adam, but Peter Macqueen gives an especially moving performance as Michael... lots of strong laughs, great characters and moving stories all nicely paced in this production...
